Executive Air F.B.O. lends a hand on how to make your international travels safe, smooth, and hassle free.

Executive Air Fixed Based Operation (FBO) & VIP Terminal out of the Midwest is no stranger to international travel overseas and for our customers convenience we have put together this international travel list to aid our customers in having the safest, smoothest international travel experience possible.
At Executive Air we want to aid in making your international travel to be hassle free and an overall safe, enjoyable travel experience. However during your international travels there is a possibility you could encounter unpredictable situations, if you are not prepared for those situations overseas they can quickly turn into long delays, unexpected fines, to even life threatening situations.
International travel today requires a passport.  Most countries also require a visa and possibly even a work permit if you will be conducting company business for an extended period of time.
Depending on what country you are traveling to overseas they may require immunizations for entry into the country; or for your added protection the CDC might have recommendations to vaccinations to be taken for your added protection, in higher risk areas.  We would recommend in these situations for you to carry your immunization book with you.
Per the US State Department; “Check with your doctor well in advance of your planned departure and visit for the most recent updated international travel health information . For information about pandemic influenza, see  or the website above.  Information about infectious diseases abroad may also be found on the website of the World Health Organization at and further health information for travelers is available here.”

Helpful sites to aid you in preparing for your international travels and can answer a majority of your questions with the most current information:

Listed below are some key items you should consider for your international trip.  The list addresses practical and essential items you might need during the course of your international trip. Clothing, personal items, etc. are up to you and your specific trip plans.

Travel Documents to Take with You

  • Passport with required visas (passport should be valid for at least six months from start of trip).
  • Copy of your passport (photo and visa pages) and other travel documents.
  • Visas for entry into countries to be visited, including those which you will transit.
  • Alien registration card (green card) or valid visa for re-entry into the USA - non-US citizens.
  • Health book (record of immunizations.
  • International Flight Plan (many countries require round international flight plan for entry).
  • Drivers license - State (i.e. Wisconsin).
  • Drivers license - International (available from AAA).
  • Fax, telex or letter stating that your visa will be available upon arrival for countries who do not issue visas outside their country. (ie UAE, Oman, etc.).
  • Traveler checks (exchange for local currency as needed at a bank).
  • Major international credit cards (ie. American Express, Diners, and VISA/MasterCard)
  • Telephone numbers at destinations and addresses in countries to be visited - may be needed for landing cards.
  • Commercial invoice for laptop computers, etc. - check with the destination office on this. Receipts or registration paperwork should do. See the U.S. Customs document Know Before You Go for additional advise.

Per PC WORLD, “You risk trouble every time you carry a laptop across an international border, and that includes returning home. Most countries allow custom officials to search anything you bring into their country, including the contents of your hard drive. They may even insist that you decrypt anything that's encrypted. And different countries may have different definitions of espionage and pornography.

If there's anything on your hard drive that might cause trouble, remove it before you leave the country: Make an extra backup, then securely remove it with a program like Eraser. If you're going to need the information on your trip, email it to yourself or ftp it to someplace on the Internet from where you can retrieve it.”  Review the full article on your laptop and international travel.
